things lost, trust gone, where do you belong
self astray betraying and frayed
searching within to the place you've been
not understanding, eyes not withstanding
the perception and denial
complacent........survival
what must we do to let it all go
fight back the tears, just say no
beating retrieval black and evil
binds you..........
gasping for air, he passes without care
and forgets the girl he once new
his first love never to return
broken, departed empty he yearns
seeking a lie to mask the shame
he goes on.........
she takes the blame
